Michelin Guide UK 2022: Longstanding Michelin-starred restaurants celebrate retaining stars after two difficult years for hospitality

Following the release of The Michelin Guide 2022 and the unveiling of the list of new stars and green stars across Great Britain and Ireland for 2022, many restaurants are celebrating having retained stars for a number of years

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, three stars for 21 years

Gordon Ramsay and Matt Abé both commended teams past and present for Restaurant Gordon Ramsay's achievements, which has held three stars for 21 years. 

Gordon said: "Maintaining this standard comes down to the amazing team...so I want to give a ​big thank you to all of them ! More importantly a big thank you to you all our guests. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today. A big congratulations to all the new stars handed out throughout the UK as well today!"

Matt also thanked the team, and said: "21 years, blood, sweat and tears by all those past and present. I am humbled to lead such a fantastic team who bring their very best everyday for our guests. Pied à Terre, one star for 29 years

Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, two stars for 17 years

Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, whose general manager Dale Dewsbury and team were yesterday awarded the Welcome and Service Award 2022, said: " I can’t thank every single member of the team enough for these amazing achievements - it’s easily said, but we don’t underestimate the massive commitment it takes to keep us moving forward. Simpsons, one star for 22 years:

The bybrook at Manor House hotel, one star for 7 years

Trinity, one star for 7 years

Heston Blumenthal, Three stars at The Fat Duck, two stars at Dinner by Heston, one star at the Hind's Head

Heston Blumenthal celebrated his teams' retaining stars at The Hind's Head, Dinner by Heston, and The Fat Duck, who, he said, "have all worked incredibly hard to retain our star levels from 3 stars to 1 star and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts."

"Congratulations to our former colleagues who have achieved great things today too. We’re proud to be part of your journey.

"But whether your restaurant is gaining or losing or, like us, staying the same today we realise that we are all in this together and we appreciate how tough the last few years have been just to still be here.
