Continuing its international development, the Michelin Guide has announced more listings for the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018.

Recently the guide unveiled its first listing for the city of Taipei in spring 2018.

The famous Michelin Guide inspectors will be setting out this year to discover the streets of Taipei, to select the best of the city's restaurants.

Available in Spring 2018, this 30th selection of the international Michelin Guides collection will enable locals, tourists and business travellers alike to benefit from the Michelin Guide recommendations - whatever their fancies, tastes, or budgets.

Claire Dorland-Clauzel, member of the group executive committee, and director of sustainable development, brands, external relations and the Michelin Guide said: "We are particularly happy to continue our deployment in Asia with the launch of this new selection of the Michelin Guide dedicated to Taipei.

"The diversity and quality of the city's culinary scene, combined with its strong potential for development in the years to come, convinced us in our choice to set up in Taipei as from next year. Our inspectors have already started working on-site and are delighted to be getting acquainted with the local cuisine, rich in so many influences from all around Asia."

The Michelin Guide Taipei 2018 will be available in a bilingual version (English and Chinese) in both paper and digital formats.

Coming next month will be the very first Bangkok edition of the Michelin Guide. The names of those to be included in the first edition will be announced at a special awards ceremony to be held at Siam Kempinski Hotel on 6 December.

According to the news site, Time Out, Chan Yan Tak of the three starred Lung King Heen in Hong Kong, Thierry Marx of two-starred Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx in France, and Henrik Yde-Anderson of one starred Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen will join Chayawee Sutcharitchan of Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin, Bongkoch Satongun of Paste, Thaninthorn Chantrawan from Siam Wisdom and Yannis Janssens from L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon to cook a six-course dinner for the award ceremony.

Tickets to attend the launch event are available now priced at B20,000 (B30,000 for 2 persons) via the Michelin Guide Bangkok website.

While this year will focus primarily on Bangkok, the guides are said to expand in later years.
