The Connaught hotel will welcome Michelin star chef Massimo Bottura into its kitchens on Monday, November 10. The event will be the chef's first time cooking in London as he launches his new book, Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef.

Massimo has been lent the kitchens by chef Hélène Darroze, where he will create some of his favourite dishes from Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy. Bottura’s restaurant has ranked third in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards twice.

Massimo chose the Connaught because it 'has come to feel like his home in London'. He said: "I could not be more delighted to be cooking there in November. The service is unparalleled for me, and the hotel represents a serene meeting point of heritage and modernity. I am honoured that Hélène Darroze has been so generous to open her kitchens and distinguished restaurant to welcome me to London.”

The eight-course menu will include some of his famous dishes to showcase the restaurant's history; a record that is also present in the Connaught's heritage. It incorporates titles such as 'The crunchy part of the lasagne', 'Beautiful psychedelic spin-painted veal, not flame grilled' and 'Oops, I dropped the lemon tart'.

General Manager Nathalie Seiler-Hayez says that they are 'honoured that Massimo Bottura has chosen the Connaught' and are 'looking forward to having a touch of Italy in the kitchen for the day'. She added: "The international food scene in the capital is more diverse than ever, and it’s exciting for hotel restaurants to be at the very heart of it.”

*Reservations for “Massimo Bottura at the Connaught” are online and via phone and are available on Monday, November 10, 2014 only. Massimo and his team of chefs from Osteria Francescana will be in attendance. The tasting menu costs £250 per person and comes with champagne, a signed copy of Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef.
