Mark Jarvis' restaurant Stem has closed
Mark Jarvis' restaurant on Princes Street in Mayfair, Stem, is said to have closed over the weekend, a month after appointing a new head chef.
According to Eater, a spokesperson for Stem confirmed the closure but declined to comment further. The Staff Canteen reached out to the chef patron but received no response.

Stem launched in May last year, promising to bring the informal modern British food characteristic of Anglo Farringdon to Mayfair, with chef Sam Ashton-Booth at the helm in the kitchen and Emma Underwood managing the front of house.
It received high praise from critics, including Jay Rayner, who called it "precisely cooked food in a smart location at a fair price" which "restores your faith in humanity."
Emma Underwood left the restaurant earlier this year and has since joined Darby's by Robin Gill at the Embassy Gardens in Vauxhall, London.
Former sous-chef at Stem Tom Millar took over when Sam left in late April. We spoke to Mark Jarvis at the time, who said that the restaurant was set to launch a new a la carte menu which he expected would be "a big hit."
The news follows on Mark's decision to terminate his consultancy for Neo-Bistro in Mayfair in December last year in order to focus on his own operations.
Anglo has been a massive hit since it launched in 2016, receiving the Observer Food Monthly's "Best Newcomer" award that year. Grace Dent called it "thoughtful, delicate and challenging" and went as far as saying the restaurant was like "Noma if Noma was born and raised in Norwich. "
