Daniele Quattromini, Manager at private members club, Club Lounge 39 in Canary Wharf and Lusso Catering, has been crowned the winner of the prestigious Gold Service Scholarship 2015.

The 25-year-old was recognised for his commitment to the hospitality service at an awards ceremony held at Claridge’s on the Monday, February 9, and will now receive a year of mentoring from industry experts such as Silvano Giraldin at Le Gavroche and Diego Masciaga at The Waterside Inn.

Daniele said: “It’s an honour to be selected as the Scholar for 2015 and to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner James Fleming. The next year will be an incredible experience and I feel so fortunate and privileged to know that I will be working alongside industry greats in so many revered venues and establishments. I hope over the next year my own work and experiences will inspire other young people to pursue a career in this dynamic and rewarding industry and better understand the huge breadth of opportunities available to them within it.”

He will also have the chance to work with the Royal Household, visit the vineyards of Champagne and Bordeaux and work with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Europe to enhance his skills in front of house service and customer experience.

Daniele competed with eight other finalists at a luncheon service at The Connaught, Mayfair for the award. As the winner he will become an ambassador for the industry and an example of the success and rewards a career in front of house service can offer. Edward Griffiths CVO and Sergio Rebecchi were among the panel of judges.

Speaking at the ceremony, Alastair Storey, Chairman of BaxterStorey, and Chairman of The Gold Service Scholarship Trustees said: “This is the third year of The Gold Service Scholarship and I would like to thank everyone involved for their magnificent support in helping encourage young talent to join and enrich our industry.”

He added: “Great Britain has an outstanding international reputation and is a popular and historically rich destination. However we must constantly innovate to stay at the forefront of our industry globally.

“It is therefore with enormous pride and gratitude that I can announce that Her Majesty the Queen has agreed to become Patron of the Gold Service Scholarship. Her Majesty’s endorsement is a huge encouragement to all of us and, I believe, reflects the value of our sector to the well-being of our nation.”

Willy Bauer OBE, Founder of the Gold Service Scholarship and Chairman of AB Hotels, also added: “The hospitality industry continues growing and we need to reach out to young people and encourage them to join our vibrant industry.”
