Magic Feast street-food festival comes to South East London

Top London restaurants such as Hutong and The Garrison are to appear at the Magic Feast Festival in South East London this November.

The event, which takes place on 12th November, is a street-food style festival complete with food stalls, a DJ, raffle, live auction and school-yard fun, all to raise money for Magic Breakfast, a charity dedicated to delivering free, nutritious breakfasts to primary school students with the aim of aiding children’s concentration and learning in the classroom.

Bermondsey Street gastropub The Garrison will be serving a poached pear salad with chicory, stilton and caramel walnuts. Its sister restaurant Village East will be doing their lamb meatball sliders.

Chinese restaurant and bar Hutong will be descending from their location in The Shard to be cooking up poached pork wontons with garlic spicy sauce.

Meanwhile burger joint MEATliquor will be presenting their Dead Hippie and mushroom and halloumi sliders and providing the music for the event with their radio station MEATtransMISSION.

Finally, desserts will be provided by The Breakfast Club, who will be serving pancakes with berries and cream and 1235 Donuts, who will be providing their French-style take on the sweet snack. Complimenting the food will be a variety of local wines and craft beer.

South London restaurants and bars have also donated prizes for the evening’s raffle, which include a voucher for the oyster and seafood restaurant Wright Brothers and a pasta making class with chef Lale of Zucca.

Magic Feast takes place on 12th November from 6.30pm – 11pm in the cafeteria of Surrey Square Primary School. Tickets are £50, which includes all food and drink plus a raffle ticket, and are available to buy at www.magicfeast.eventbrite.co.uk
