John Burton-Race 'seeking new adventure' as he resigns from his Torquay-based restaurant
John Burton-Race has confirmed on Twitter his resignation from his Torquay-based restaurant.
Further to his tweet enquiring about head chef opportunities, it has been announced that John Burton-Race has confirmed that he has resigned from his position as chef patron from the Torquay-based John Burton-Race Restaurant with Rooms.
John posted a tweet yesterday saying: “I’m seeking a new adventure! Do you know of any top #restaurants looking for a new #headchef? One that has held multiple #MichelinStar? Please get in touch if you have any leads!”
He later added: “I have resigned to try and seek a new venture and I’m excited to see what the future holds for me!”.
He has revealed that he is happy to go anywhere in the world and would welcome an opportunity to travel. The restaurant also confirmed his departure today and said a further statement would be made in due course.

Previous guests have expressed their dismay at his departure.
Absolutely gutted you are leaving the hote in Torquay. We have had some amazing meals there since you took over the kitchen and it has a very special place in mine and @louisathomas_ hearts.
