Japanese restaurant set to move into The Stratford this May

HANNAH, a Japanese restaurant, has announced it will be moving into The Stratford Hotel in London.

 HANNAH offers an authentic Japanese dining experience, blending traditional Kaiseki styles with European elements.

The restaurant is known for its Omakase tasting menu, which features prime ingredients such as locally sourced fish and imported Wagyu beef.

This comes after news that Allegra, a restaurant offering European cuisine, announced its closure in 2024.

Before Allegra announced its closure, head chef Patrick Powell announced his departure from the restaurant in July, 2024.

Hannah's first restaurant at County Hall on Belvedere Road will be closing on March 31. 

The new restaurant is set to open its doors in May.

A spokesperson for HANNAH said: “After 7 years of wonderful, memorable moments and experiences crafting at Hannah County Hall, we will be creating a new home in Stratford, at The Stratford Hotel, the beginning of May!

“Actually this is not something we have planned to do, but we’re thrilled to embark on another challenging yet exciting journey.

“In our new home, with a new concept, we will be working as hard as ever (or even twice as hard) and trying our best to create something different, something good, and something memorable for you.

“HANNAH will always have a special space in our heart. And after a short break settling our new home, we will soon be recreating this special place at County Hall with another cool idea in mind, around the middle of April.

“For now, we just want to shout out a big THANK YOU to all our lovely guests who have always been so kind, sweet and supportive to our team and our work all along. You’re honest the best guests a team could ever ask for.

“It sounds like a cliché but we do feel this way. Sometimes we don’t even know how come we’re so lucky.

“Sadly the last service at HANNAH will be on the 31st March (Monday). But this isn’t a goodbye. It’s just the beginning of another brand new chapter.

“If you miss us, you can find us at The Stratford! (We know it might be a bit far for some of you, but if you do come see us for afar, we will definitely give you the biggest hug of all times!”
