Jamie Oliver announces new London opening
Jamie Oliver is returning to London's culinary scene after a four-year hiatus following the closure of his UK-wide chain of restaurants, Jamie’s Italian, Fifteen and Barbecoa in London, which faced financial challenges.
Jamie Oliver is set to take up residence in a prestigious Grade I-listed building located in London's vibrant Covent Garden.
The new establishment, named Jamie Oliver Catherine Street, is scheduled to open its doors in November 2023 and aims to shine a spotlight on independent British producers and suppliers, showcasing the richness of local culinary offerings.
Heading the culinary team will be chef Chris Shail and pastry chef Emma Jackson, both of whom bring their expertise from esteemed establishments like Soho Farmhouse and Petersham Nurseries.
Working alongside Jamie Oliver, both Chris and Emma will craft a menu that embodies the spirit of the new spot, using ingredients utilised sourced from esteemed purveyors such as Westcombe Dairy, Cobble Lane Cured, Hill Street Chocolate, and an exciting collaboration with Walthamstow’s Wild Card Brewery.
Commenting on the new venture via his social media, Jamie said: "I am so happy to announce my return to the UK restaurant industry that I love so dearly with my new place Jamie Oliver Catherine Street! We’re creating a menu that reflects my love of Britain’s rich & diverse food culture and champions independent producers and suppliers."
Jamie added: "My hope is that Catherine Street will be a wonderfully welcoming, happy place to dine, with great service, and delicious food at its heart. To say I’m excited is an understatement! Hope to see you at Catherine Street later this year."
Jamie Oliver Catherine Street will be welcoming patrons to its address at 6 Catherine Street, WC2B 5JY, offering a memorable culinary experience that captures the essence of Jamie Oliver's culinary evolution.
