Jamie Desogus’ Harborne Kitchen in Birmingham set for late autumn launch
Artist's impressions reveal the exciting vision for Jamie Desogus’ new Harborne Kitchen set to launch this autumn. The Birmingham restaurant has been in development since the start of the year and will replace the Butchers Social pop up on Harborne High Street.
A two storey extention has just been added and the restaurant will have an open kitchen so diners can see what the team are cooking with food being served directly from the work space through the ‘kitchen table’.
Jamie, a former Gordon Ramsay protégée, said: "There'll be nowhere to hide - the idea is the kitchen is part of the experience - with 10 seats at the kitchen table where people can watch every part of the service."
While the pop-up in the old Walter Smith Butchers retained many of its former business's features, Harborne Kitchen sees the building completely transformed, with just some of the original windows retained inside.
The restaurant will feature a variety of menu options including a tasting menu, a la carte and a snack menu. While the main menus will be seasonal the bar menu is set to change every week. Cocktails will also be available to create a relaxed atmosphere similar to the Butchers Social.
Jamie, chef and owner, said: “People can just come in for a snack or a drink in the bar, a main meal or the tasting menu in the restaurant.”
Jamie, who trained at Gordon Ramsey's Michelin-starred London restaurants Petrus and Royal Hospital Road, has already created sample menus, which can be found on the website: http://www.harbornekitchen.com/
