Jackson Boxer’s Brunswick House to roll back years for birthday celebrations

Jackson Boxer’s acclaimed restaurant, bar and private rooms at Brunswick House is set to roll back to the years to celebrate its 15th birthday.
Launched in May 2010 by Jackson and brother Frank Boxer, Brunswick House is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion in Vauxhall.
The mark the birthday, a 15-day event will begin on Saturday, April 26, featuring a sandwich inspired by those on the opening café menu, as well as £5 negronis.
Jackson and Frank together set up Brunswick House in the building which they continue to share with architectural salvage company, LASSCO. The unique, chandelier and antiques-filled space was initially intended as a six-month pop-up with a 10-seat counter snack bar and a café atmosphere.
Over the last 15 years, Jackson and Frank have slowly grown it into a dining room, bar, terrace, four private dining spaces and the cellars – a speakeasy and dance dungeon.
Jackson’s menu has developed over the years, always reflective of his passion for the highest quality produce, presented simply and thoughtfully with generosity and flair.
Between Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, May 11, diners at Brunswick House will be able to order a tribute to the first ever Brunswick House menu, The Meatloaf Sandwich, with pork, beef & duck liver meatloaf, breaded and deep fried, Westcombe Cheddar, Dijon mayonnaise, plum sauce and smoked bone marrow butter (£15).
Between 6-8pm, Tuesday to Saturday during these dates, the bar and restaurant will sell negronis, one of the classic cocktails that has been a mainstay on the drinks list, for £5.
Jackson said: “When I first got offered the opportunity to run a coffee and sandwich bar as a six-month pop up 15 years ago, I could never have imagined we'd still be here 15 years later.
“The stewardship of this extraordinary piece of London history is a source of inordinate pride for me and the team, and the fact that the existence of the restaurant has helped restore the building to its former glory, while keeping it open and accessible to the public, as so much of our beautiful city is destroyed, redeveloped, enclosed, and removed from public use, feels like a huge justification for all the hard work.
“Brunswick House is a unique and magical place. The combination of the remarkable Georgian architecture, LASSCO’s eye for salvaged antiques and their maximalist display, our bright young team, our wonderful community of guests, both regular and occasional, combine to make it a restaurant definitive of its place, not just at the heart of south London, but in the centre of a city looking to reclaim its cultural place in the world.

Jackson Boxer started out as a kitchen porter aged 16, before gaining a degree in English at Cambridge University.
After graduating, he joined the opening team at 32 Great Queen Street, before setting up Brunswick House.
Jackson opened Orasay in Notting Hill in 2019, which closed last year having won a host of awards, and rebranded as Dove in January 2025.
Jackson now splits his time between the kitchens of Brunswick House and Dove where he is chef proprietor, Cowley Manor, Jackson Boxer at The Corner and most recently, Henri at Henrietta Experimental.
