Harriet Mansell announces her Robin Wylde will close at the end of September
Harriet Mansell has announced she will be closing her Robin Wylde restaurant at the end of September to concentrate on evolving her business.
A post on the restaurant’s Instagram revealed its final summer opening times, whilst explaining the decision behind its closure.
The post read: "The final night listed - the 23rd September - will be the last night in our current format and home. In October, we will be returning the keys of 63a Silver Street to the landlord, after four very special years."
It added: "Please rest assured that this isn’t the end, but rather we are planning a new chapter and direction for Harriet and the team. Lilac will remain a mainstay in our local community. We intend to see it flourish and will be pouring our hearts into making it the best it can be."
Harriet’s launched the Robin Wylde in 2020, with the restaurant quickly becoming firm favourite amongst critics and diners, with Harden's Best UK Restaurant Guide 2023 ranking it a 57 of the country’s 100 best restaurants.
Despite Robin Wylde’s planned closure, sister venue Lilac will continue to operate and serve diners. Looking to the future, the restaurant added: "There are lots of exciting events, opportunities and plans afoot - including a project that is very close to Harriet’s heart. So, stay tuned for more details which we will be releasing over the coming weeks. We hope to see you at one of these dates - as we plan to celebrate and enjoy our final months, what we have created and our ongoing exploration of the wild world of ingredients around us."
HARRIET MANSELL AND HER ROBIN WYLDE RESTAURANT
Originally thought up by the chef in 2019, Robin Wylde existed as a Supper Club until January of this year at ‘The Pop-Up Kitchen’ in Lyme Regis, at which point the chef already had her heart set on a permanent site.
The former history and politics student, who honed her culinary skills at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy in Woking, before staging in Michelin-starred restaurants including Noma, Dinner by Heston, and Hedone and working on super-yaghts, represented the South West in this 2020's run of BBC Two's Great British Menu.
