Ellory will close on March 4 as the the building where the Michelin-starred is based has been put up for sale.

Netil House which is based in Hackney and is owned by sommeliers Jack Lewens and Ed Thaw has been listed on Rightmove with the opportunity to take out a lease for up to three years,

The 48-cover neighbourhood restaurant opened in November 2015 and the kitchen is run by head chef Sam Kamienko who has previously worked in New York at Le Bernardin, Eleven Madison Park and Gramercy Tavern as well as Mayfields, Anchor and Hope and Le Verre Volé in Paris.

Taking to instagram the team said: "Ellory was the product of many things. Great people, amazing suppliers and fantastic customers. It’s been an extraordinary ride over two years. Our last service will be Sunday 4th March and we begin a new chapter with Leroy in Shoreditch. The name is one of our pet names for Ellory since many people couldn’t seem to say our name properly. Some things will be the same but many will be different. We hope to see you as many of you as possible for this final month and welcome you to our new home in Shoreditch on the 19th of March."

Since opening in November 2015, Ellory has grown into a neighbourhood restaurant, pairing modern European sharing plates with an exclusively European wine list in a clean, minimal space with a personable informed service. Ellory has held a Michelin star since 2017 and it is a stripped back restaurant with an open kitchen.

Sam’s cooking style reflects his time spent working in Melbourne, London and Paris. His plates are simple in appearance but full of flavour and respect for the best produce from Britain and Europe. The menu is designed for sharing and changes every day.

The team are planning to open the new restaurant  Leroy in Shoreditch on March 19.
