Michelin-starred chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin have already made big names for themselves as restaurateurs, with a widely acclaimed chain of eateries in London and Edinburgh but are now entering the pub market.

Joining up with specialist property advisors Christie + Co they are aiming to bring the spirit and community of the Great British pub together with the high-quality cuisine of Windows and La Chapelle.

Chris Galvin said: “Our goal is to deliver people’s perception of the great British pub serving the local neighbourhood, and also becoming a destination in itself. We will re-establish the no nonsense approach to our pubs by working with hand picked staff, using simple cooking methods and utilising the best quality, locally sourced ingredients.”

The Galvins’ pubs are promised to feature British hand-drawn cask ales and a hand-selected wine list to balance the simply-prepared menu. The brothers are committed to their home grown food and are keen to work with local artisans and growers from around the Home Counties.

Christie + Co’s Director for Corporate Pubs & Restaurants, Simon Chaplin, said the company was looking forward to working with the Galvins on their latest venture.

He said: “We fully understand the ethos behind their brand and are looking forward to helping them growth their pub offering. The Galvin team are keen to move quickly and have already acquired the Green Man Pub in Chelmsford, Essex which has quickly gained a strong following and local support whilst undergoing its restoration and refurbishment. We will look to grow the portfolio in the London suburbs and along the Thames Valley.”
