Former Michelin-starred restaurant set to reopen under new chef and name
A former Michelin green star restaurant has announced it is opening under a new name and award-winning chef.
Renowned chef Andrew Sheridan and his Open Restaurant Group (ORG) are set to reopen the site formerly known as Native, a Michelin-starred, farm-to-fork restaurant on the Netherwood Estate in Worcestershire.
Native closed in March 2025 following Ivan Tisdall-Downes' resignation from the restaurant.

When announcing its closure, a spokesperson for Native said: “Extreme highs are often followed with extreme lows.
Following the amazing news at this year’s Michelin awards we have returned home to find a broken extraction system. What we hoped was a quick fix turns out to be a deeper problem with our systems and so sadly, cannot be an immediate fix.
“The large cost to repair this equipment is unfortunately the straw that broke the camels back and has had a huge detrimental effect on a small business with such tight margins and unfortunately has put us in a position whereby the directors at Hestia Ltd have taken the decision to close the restaurant for the foreseeable future.
“We have cancelled all future reservations via our online booking system and if you have paid a deposit a full refund will have been actioned already, you can expect this back within 7 working days.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and wish all our customers well for the future.”
Renamed Sow, the restaurant will focus on sustainable gastronomy, making use of its on-site kitchen garden. Adam will collaborate with head chef Curtis Winstone, formerly of Da Terra and Lucknam Park, to develop a menu celebrating local produce.
The Netherwood Estate welcomed the partnership, wishing ORG success with the reopening, set for mid-May.
Before Native moved in, the former restaurant was Pensons, another farm-to-fork restaurant at the estate.
Andrew said: “We are absolutely delighted to be taking over Pensons – this place is unreal, and we can’t wait to get started. We will be focusing on the farm-to-fork dining and the abundant ingredients available in the restaurant’s kitchen garden.”
He added: “Curtis worked with us when we had 8 in Birmingham, and it is great to have him back on the ORG team.”
A spokesperson for the Netherwood Estate said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming ORG to the Netherwood Estate and we wish them all the best with the reopening of the restaurant and rooms.”
Executive chef and co-founder, Ivan Tisdall-Downes recently announced his resignation from Native, he said: “From Covent Garden to Borough Market, Osea Island and Mayfair, and finally the abundant Netherwood Estate. A humble street food stall started in 2012, Native has grown into a Michelin awarded brand that’s allowed me to travel the world and cook with some of my heroes.
“It is therefore with a heavy heart that I have resigned from my position as Executive Chef of Native under its current guardians Hestia Ltd. I wish Hestia all the best, and can’t wait to follow their next adventures.”
