Finalists announced for Young National Chef of the Year 2013
The Craft Guild of Chefs has revealed the names of the eight young chefs going forward to the grand final of Young National Chef of the Year 2013.
Seven of the eight young chefs going through to the Young National Chef of the Year (YNCOTY), organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs, in partnership with Knorr, have been announced following the tense and immensely creative semi final heats, held in Sheffield and London.
In a change from the format in previous years, this years YNCOTY competition, which sits alongside The National Chef of The Year and is open to chefs aged 18-23, saw the Guild pick just four chefs to automatically go through to the grand final, whilst the remaining four places were fought for in a series of semi finals by winners made up of young chefs from industry wide competitions.
The heats were held at Sheffield City College on June 18th and the University of West London on July 2nd to coincide with The National Chef of the Year semi-finals. The remaining position for the final of YNCOTY will be announced at the Academy of Culinary Arts dinner on 15th July.

The live final will be held at The Restaurant show in London on 8th October.
