Fabrice Uhryn appointed executive chef at Alain Roux's three Michelin-Starred The Waterside Inn

Fabrice Uhryn has been appointed executive chef of Alain Roux’s three Michelin-starred The Waterside Inn.

Belgian Fabrice joined the Bray restaurant with rooms back in 2001, as sous chef. He worked his way up to head chef and has now been promoted to a newly created role of executive chef.

Adam Wright will remain as head chef, a role he previously shared with Fabrice.

A statement from The Waterside Inn read: “An announcement filled with pride. As we enter our 53rd year, we are delighted to announce an exciting new chapter in our kitchen leadership under chef patron, Alain Roux.

“After a remarkable 24 years with us, chef Fabrice Uhryn has been appointed executive chef in a brand new role that marks an historic first for The Waterside Inn.

“Fabrice joined us as sous chef, working his way up to head chef - a role that he has held for the last 17 years. This promotion recognises his exceptional experience, leadership, talent, and the unique respect in which he is held by The Waterside Inn community and wider industry.

“Our talented joint head chef, Adam Wright, now becomes our sole head chef. Having started his career with us at the tender age of 18 in 2011, Adam worked his way up to chef de partie before leaving to work under influential chefs in France including Guy Savoy and Michel & César Troisgros.

“Adam returned to the fold as joint head chef in 2022 and this position recognises the astonishing progress and success he has achieved at such a young age.”

Alain said: “Chef Fabrice and chef Adam lead the team as shining examples of the heights that can be achieved through hard work and commitment - thriving in our culture of inspiration, creativity and teamwork.

“It will be my pleasure to see them continue to innovate and keep the Roux legacy alive, whilst bringing our guests even more exciting dining experiences.”
