Date confirmed for reopening of JÖRO
JÖRO 2.0 will open its doors on Wednesday, January 15 after finding a new home.
The renowned Nordic and Japanese-inspired restaurant will open within the Oughtibridge Paper Mill development, a renovated 19th century building, on the edge of the Peak District.
It will feature JÖRO’s flagship dining experience, alongside two bars, an all-day dining terrace, outdoor BBQ kitchen concept, seven boutique rooms and a deli shop. The full official opening is due next month.
The restaurant, co-owned by Luke French and Stacey Sherwood-French, was previously housed within the unique setting of a modern shipping container at Krynkl, Kelham Islan in Sheffield.
It is already hosting diners with highlights on the menu including grilled Scottish scallops, salt-aged Yorkshire beef rump cap, and whole teriyaki quail, complemented by creative desserts like Basque blueberry cheesecake and yuzu meringue pie.
JÖRO will also feature a shop, offering ingredients and alcohol, as well as Scandi-inspired rooms to stay the night.
Chef and co-owner Luke said: “We’re incredibly excited to finally open the doors to our new home in January. This move has been years in the making, and we’ve poured so much thought into creating a space that elevates the JÖRO experience.
“The additional space means we can expand our offerings with the terrace, bars, and more, giving guests an array of ways to experience JÖRO.”
Stacey added: “As soon as we saw the site, we knew it was the perfect place for JÖRO 2.Ö. It’s an incredible blend of natural beauty and industrial heritage, just 10 minutes from the city.
“We can’t wait to welcome guests to this amazing space and showcase everything we’ve been working on.”
