Cyrus Todiwala of Cafe Spice Namaste and Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, has launched Zest Quest Asia – the new name for the Asian Junior Chefs’ Challenge ? in association with the MasterChefs of Great Britain (MCGB).

Cook Manchester is helping food start-ups


A new food venture is aiming to help culinary start-ups.  Trafford-Park based Cook Manchester, which opened last month, offers a 3,000 sq ft professional kitchen that can be hired by caterers, food producers, teachers and event organisers.  The well-equipped professional kitchen offers access to heavy duty food production equipment, including large steam and combi ovens, six-ring burner ranges, stand mixers and even an enormous four-deck bakery oven.

Food truck offers Mexican treats on the streets of North Devon


A STREET food truck selling top-notch Mexican dishes has been making its way around North Devon.  Harry Harvey and his mum Debbie Munro set up Calaca Loca, meaning day of the dead in Mexican, around a year ago once Harry returned from an 11-year stint as a chef in California.  Having moved away at 16 to train as a chef and after working in fine dining restaurants abroad, Harry decided it was time to become his own boss as well as move closer to his family.
