Gordon Ramsay's US MasterChef in coaching cheat storm


Gordon Ramsay was last night accused of ‘cooking up a lie’ when it was revealed that contestants on his US version of MasterChef have been secretly receiving cooking lessons.  The covert coaching was revealed on a blog by a runner-up contestant on the hit TV show who said there had been ‘baking component classes including how to make pastry cream, sponge cake, cobbler, shortbread and pie crusts, etc’.

Celebrity chef James Martin misses show after freak Valentine's Day accident in car


James Martin was forced to pull out of hosting Saturday Kitchen yesterday after suffering a freak injury on Valentine’s Day.  The TV chef, 41, bumped his head while in his car and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.  He said: “I’ve been glued up and stitched up but I am fine and looking forward to getting back to work next week.

France: Top chefs crack down on ‘food porn’


Two Michelin-starred French chefs are cracking down on customers who take photographs of their food, it's been reported.  Gilles Goujon, who runs the three-starred L'Auberge du vieux puits restaurant in Fontjoncouse in southern France, says it is poor etiquette to take photos of food, and more importantly, every time his creations appear on social networks it "takes away the surprise, and a little bit of my intellectual property".
