Heston Blumenthal's Dinner closed temporarily due to norovirus outbreak


Food poisoning has a habit of repeating on you, as Heston Blumenthal – top chef and creator of original and expensive menus – has found to his cost.  Dinner, one of Britain's most exclusive eateries, in Knightsbridge, central London, has fallen foul of the same winter-vomiting bug that hit the chef's Fat Duck in Bray, Berkshire, five years ago.

House of Lords is no longer a place for fine dining, peers gripe


Members of the House of Lords have lodged a series of extravagant complaints about their taxpayer-subsidised restaurants, expressing their anger about the size of menus, “chaotic” table layouts and “inferior cappuccinos”.

Edinburgh science festival to serve food of future


A BOWL of broth with a side syringe of liquid noodles followed by a petri dish of glowing jelly, rounded off with petits fours made from chocolate- covered perfume and a beer flavoured with music.  It may sound like a menu from Bladerunner, but it’s actually a taster of what will be served at an event during this year’s Edinburgh International Science Festival.

Weird flavoured food that you definitely wouldn’t want to eat


So earlier this month we wrote about Cheetos flavoured with Mountain Dew. Now I’m not sure exactly what flavour Mountain Dew is actually based on, the closest we got was ‘a bit like fermented orange and medicine’. Now mix that with cheese. A winning combination right? Or perhaps not. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
