London's Claridge's hotel has confirmed that executive chef Martyn Nail and head chef Adam Peirson have left the hotel, having worked there for 36 and 22 years respectively

Martyn joined the hotel in 1988, and Adam came on board in August 1999.

In a statement, a representative of the hotel said: "Claridge’s has been privileged to work with Chef Martyn Nail for over 36 years and Chef Adam Peirson MBE for 22 years. They are both extremely talented chefs and their culinary creativity and dedicated contribution to Claridge’s has been outstanding during that time.

"We are sorry that they will be leaving Claridge’s and we wish to take this moment to thank them for everything during their time with us, and wish them every future success."

The news comes after Daniel Humm's restaurant at Claridge's, Michelin-starred Davies and Brook closed at the end of 2021, as the chef and the hotel failed to reach an agreement on the chef's plan to make the restaurant's food offering entirely plant-based.
