Atul Kochhar plans two restaurants in London and Buckinghamshire
Chef and restaurateur Atul Kochhar is set to open two restaurants, one at Wembley Park in North West London and another in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshsire.
The chef, whose portfolio includes Kanishka in Mayfair, Sindhu and Vaasu in Marlow, Indian Essence in Kent and Hawkyns in Amersham, will open both venues later this year: Malaschi on the corner of Olympic Way and Wembley Park Boulevard and Riwaz at former Azzurri Group-owned Zizzi premises in Aylesbury End.
Malaschi will serve a pan-Indian menu of dishes that Kochhar discovered at street markets during his travels in India, with dishes including Gurda Kapura Masala, a spicy curry made with offal and freshly roasted garam masala in a tomato base, and Purani Dilli Ki Nihari Handi and old Delhi-style lamb stew, as well as an array of grilled dishes.
Riwaz will be Atul's latest restaurant in Buckinghamshire, close to Sindhu, Vaasu and Hawkyns.
On the launch of Malaschi, the chef said: “The energy and vibrancy of Wembley Park makes it one of the most exciting places in London right now. Opening my new dining concept in this neighbourhood and destination makes a lot of sense and will be a thrilling next chapter.”
Meanwhile, Quintain retail director, with whom the restaurateur struck a deal to launch the restaurant, added: “A Michelin-starred chef opening his newest restaurant in Wembley Park is a fantastic endorsement of what we are creating here.”
Atul Kochhar has continued to expand his restaurant empire throughout the pandemic, opening Vaasu in July 2020, first to offer takeaway meals, having signed the lease on the 80-cover restaurant a month before lockdown.
