Angela Hartnett awarded OBE in New Year Honours for services to hospitality and the NHS
Chef Angela Hartnett, hotelier Robin Hutson and Greene King managing director Andy Wilson were all named in the New Year Honours List for 2022.
Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Angela Hartnett was awarded an OBE for her services to the hospitality industry and to the NHS throughout the pandemic. The OBE follows an MBE that Angela received in 2007.
Angela is a renowned British chef who has worked in some of the UK’s finest restaurants including Gordon Ramsay's Aubergine, Marcus Wareing’s L’Oranger and Pétrus in Knightsbridge.
In 2001, Angela launched Amaryllis in Scotland with David Dempsey and now is the executive chef of 1-Michelin-star restaurant Murano.
Having received a flurry of congratulatory messages from throughout the hospitality community, the chef thanked her team and celebrated fellow honours recipients on social media.

Robin Hutson, who is the founder of Home Grown Hotels, The Pig, and Lime Wood Hotels in Hampshire, was also awarded an OBE for his services to the hospitality industry. However, unlike Angela, he was also awarded it for his philanthropic efforts.
Meanwhile, Andy Wilson, managing director for Greene King’s Destination Food Brands division, received an MBE for services to business and charity throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
He was awarded this because he has been instrumental in driving £2 million of fundraising in 2021 by Greene King’s 40,000 staff members. Along with supporting a plethora of events and running the London Marathon in October. This was all done in aid of the company’s chosen charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Nick Mackenzie, Greene King chief executive, said, “Andy has put his heart and soul into raising vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and I’m delighted he has received an MBE.
"He’s a constant driving force within our company, always thinking of new ways to engage pub teams, support centre staff and the Greene King leadership team in raising money. He is renowned for his infectious enthusiasm and energy, qualities that allow him to be so successful in motivating all around him. I look forward to seeing what his next fundraising challenge will be!”
