Andrew Sheridan acquires former Fraiche restaurant site for his Restaurant OXA venture
Andrew Sheridan has announced he will be taking over the former site of the Michelin-starred restaurant Fraiche for his upcoming new Restaurant OXA.
The chef behind the Black and Green will relaunch the venue with his business partner Sam Morgan.
Andrew is expected to relaunch the venue later this year with his business partner Sam Morgan, reopening it as Restaurant OXA.
The new upmarket neighbourhood restaurant will serve seasonal British produce, and takes its name from the old Norse word Oxa-tún, which represents the word Oxton.
Development of the restaurant is expected to begin shortly with the opening scheduled for May 2023. It is expected to create nine new jobs.
Andrew, who won the Welsh heat of the BBC's Great British Menu in 2019, acquired the venue at a busy time for him and his business partner’s Morgan's Open Restaurant Group.
The chef owner has confirmed he will relocate his three-AA-rosette tasting menu restaurant 8 to Liverpool on 19 April.
In early April, Andrew and Sam launched the Wye Inn pub in Newent, Gloucestershire at the start of April and will launch neighbourhood bistro Upstairs at the Wye in May.
Marc Wilkinson's Michelin-starred Fraiche traded for 18 years until it closed last September.
