Andre Luis Teixeira Martins joins Seven Park Place as head sommelier

Seven Park Place by William Drabble has recently appointed Andre Luis Teixeira Martins as head sommelier at the Michelin-starred restaurant housed in the five star St James’s Hotel and Club.

Andre previously worked as cellar master and bar manager at The Epsom Club House, part of London’s private members’ Royal Automobile Club.

While there Andre was responsible for sourcing, maintaining and managing a cellar of over 600 wines from around the world where he gained valuable knowledge and expertise in the world of wine.

Andre will have the task of maintaining the wine cellar at Seven Park Place whilst keeping it up?to?date and sourcing interesting wines from around the world as well as organising wine tasting events.

He will also spend time in front of house, both training the team and guiding diners through the wine selection, and will work alongside Head Chef William Drabble to ensure the contemporary French dishes are properly paired.

Andre said: “I’m thrilled to be part of the team at St James’s Hotel & Club, and feel confident that my skill, expertise and passion as Head Sommelier will further cement the restaurant’s reputation for both fine dining and exceptional wine.”

Andre is intends to work towards attaining both the Master Sommelier and Master of Wine qualifications, making him one of very few Portuguese members of the Court of Master Sommeliers.
