Adam's named as the world’s fourth best restaurant to dine at by TripAdvisor
Adam’s restaurant in Birmingham has been named as the world’s fourth best to dine at, according to TripAdvisor’s 2015 Travellers’ Choice Restaurants awards.
The restaurant, run by husband and wife Adam and Natasha Stokes, opened its doors in 2013 and has now taken the UK’s top position for the first time. It received 700 five-bubble ratings on Trip Advisor’s website.
Natasha said: “We are so honoured and humbled to receive a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice award for Restaurants. Our goal has always been to open a restaurant where our guests can feel at home for any occasion. To be rated top five in the world is a remarkable accolade one we hope we can live up to.”

“With three UK restaurants among the world top ten, this year’s awards prove that the UK does fine dining as well as any other country in the world,” said James Kay, a spokesman for TripAdvisor. He added Adam’s success was a “fantastic achievement”, given how competitive the industry is.
The number one spot was taken by Spain’s Martin Berasategui in Lasarte which specialises in modern Spanish cuisine. The tasting menu features some of his classic dishes including Mille-feuille of smoked eel, foie-gras, spring onions and green apple.
The awards honour travellers' favourite fine dining establishments worldwide, based on millions of reviews and opinions on TripAdvisor. The winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.
A survey of over 3,500 British travellers by TripAdvisor has also revealed that nearly half have been on or planning to go on a gastronomic getaway specifically to eat at a particular restaurant. In addition, a third of Brits have visited a restaurant because of its celebrity chef, and 74% of those who go to fine dining restaurants seek recommendations in online reviews.
