Adam Jackson to be appointed Head Chef of The Old Deanery in Ripon
Adam Jackson is to join The Old Deanery in Ripon as Head Chef with the restaurant and rooms set to open in November 2023 following an ongoing rebrand.
The announcement comes after Adam Jackson left his position at The Rattle Owl in York, after the property was sold onto a new business offering.
Adam joins The Old Deanery in Ripon, which plans to open later this yearsas a dining destination, serving a signature tasting menu each evening, grazing boards during the daytime, as well as drinks in the bar or garden.
Taken over by family-owned Layton Hill Hotels in late 2021, the site has been operating as an exclusive-use wedding and events venue for two successful seasons.
The group’s Director, Rebecca Layton said: "Since we took over in 2021 we have always had the appetite to further open up The Old Deanery to the public, but due to the lingering effects of the challenging recent years, we took a cautious approach and started as an exclusive use wedding and events venue, allowing us to carefully control both income and costs."
Boasting an impressive CV, Adam was head chef at the Black Swan at Oldstead, where he helped win its first Michelin star in 2012.
He also set up his own restaurant, The Park in Marmadukes Townhouse hotel, which was met with critical acclaim and gained three AA rosettes.
Rebecca added: "Now that we are more established, we are taking the next steps and cannot wait to open the restaurant and bedrooms in-between the existing wedding bookings.”
