New AA Rosettes revealed
The AA has unveiled its new list of AA Rosettes for Restaurants across the UK.
Most notable, The Latymer, Muse by Tom Aikens, The Atlantic Jersey and The Ritz received four Rosettes.
Three Rosettes were awarded to a record 26 venues, as follows: Grantley Hall, Frenchie, The Betterment, Trivet, Hide Above, Mana, Hide and Fox Hythe, The Pheasant Harome, Windlestraw, Minster Mill, The Vineyard Newbury, The Northall @ The Corinthia, Goldsborough Hall, The Barn, Dysart Petersham, Les 110 du Taillevent, Where The Light Gets In, The Boat Inn, The Old Stamp House, Driftwood, Interlude, Davies & Brook @ Claridge's, The Haughmond, Inverlochy Castle Fort William, Murrays at Whittlebury Park and The Feathered Nest Country Inn.
The AA is among the first big British organisations to dish out its awards in the abnormal context that this year has brought upon us - as Harden's, The Good Food Guide, The Roux Scholarship, Nestle's Toque d'Or, the Gold Service Scholarship and Michelin, to name a few, have decided to either postpone or hold out entirely.
This is mainly because hospitality businesses were forced to close from March until July, and, even among those who have since reopened, have had to adapt their businesses to account for new safety measures and changes in customer requirements.
Below is a breakdown of the roadside rescue group's criteria for awarding The Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence:
Upon awarding the Rosettes, Simon Numphud, managing director at AA Media said: “This has been an immensely difficult year for the hospitality industry, and yet restaurants across the country have continued to provide incredible dining experiences to the public despite these considerable challenges. The dedication and hard work of the teams behind these establishments is inspiring, particularly during this time, and we are pleased to be able to celebrate them with the announcement of these AA Rosettes.”
