Michelin Guide UK 2021: tentative predictions
However you feel about the Michelin guide on a normal year - whether you think it's a great entity worthy of respect or believe its inspectors take stars away flippantly, or are out of touch with the restaurant world of today - little of that matters.
This year has been different to anything we've seen before. The hospitality sector as a whole is under threat, and it feels as though nobody is safe from the effects of months of closure, repeated stops and starts and ongoing uncertainty.
But in the spirit of our own awards, trying to guess what route the guide is going to go down and how they might bestow a bit of joy in the industry that so needs it, we asked you what you thought.
While it's hard to make any guesses based on a handful of cryptic press releases, here are the restaurants whose names keep popping up - and might get an accolade or two come January 25th.
UPDATE: The ceremony will be streamed live at 6pm on January 25th. Tune in to our social channels on the day for the link.
