The event, being staged at the NEC Birmingham from 24th-26th January, provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for visitors to learn from and have one-to-one personal sessions with a star line-up of chefs - Andreas Antona, John Benson-Smith and Daniel Galmiche.

All three are hugely respected in the culinary world and an inspiration for every aspiring chef. Antona is Chef Patron at Simpsons Birmingham, recently voted "˜Best Restaurant in the city,' and is also Governor of The Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.

The trio of Business Mentors will be participating in a panel discussion on the first day of the show (Monday 24th January at 1pm) tackling key business issues of the moment. This will be followed by a breakout session when visitors will have the opportunity to get free advice from the mentor of their choice.

These exclusive one-to-one sessions, which can only be booked on the day of the show, give you the chance to explore personal business issues with people who have been there and done it.

Later the same day (3pm) the new chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, Ufi Ibrahim, will speak at another Business Seminar on the future of the industry.

Another session that is a must-see for everybody with an interest in cooking takes place on the final day at 2pm when celebrity chef, Silvena Rowe, will be taking part in a Business Seminar highlighting success stories in the industry. The session also features restaurant entrepreneur, Shamil Thakrar, and Ed Turner, Commercial Director at Geronimo Inns.

Competitions Galore

A highlight for chefs on all three days of the event is the renowned Salon Culinaire which will host nearly 60 competitions including 12 new classes for Live Theatre and Salon Display.

Live Theatre, sponsored by Compass Group UK, sees the introduction of three brand new classes: Elior Apprentice Skills Challenge, Lexington Food Service Challenge and Vegan Dish Challenge sponsored by The Vegan Society, which aims to reward the popularity of vegan menus. Also new to the Hospitality schedule is Schwartz Chef Flavour Pairing Challenge and Sodexo Chef of the Year. To raise awareness and demonstrate solutions to the ever-growing issue of preserving fish stocks, Live Theatre also showcases the Sustainable Fish Dish sponsored by M&J Seafood and Alaska Seafood Challenge.

Salon Display, also sponsored by Compass Group UK, hosts Junior and Senior programmes and Introduces exciting new classes such as Miniature Decorative Exhibit, Bread Display, Restaurant Plates Fish Course, Sculpted Novelty Cake and Pastillage Mask.

Salon Culinaire incorporates the 100-cover fine dining restaurant, La Parade des Chefs, which will stage an innovative cook-off between top chefs from England, Scotland and Wales  competing head-to-head to provide diners with a spectacular experience.

The three nations' national culinary teams will take turns serving up three-course lunches with the English team taking charge of the kitchen on the first day followed by the Scottish team on the second day and Welsh chefs  the next.

Bocuse d'Or comes to the Hospitality

Finally, visitors will not miss any of the action from the prestigious Bocuse d'Or international culinary event being staged at the same time in Lyon because it is being streamed live and shown on big screens above the show's La Parade des Chefs. This will give visitors a close-up view of some of the best cooks in the business and the chance to cheer on Britain's representative, Simon Hulstone, who is strongly tipped to bring home a top prize.
