Chris Hill Blog: ChefLife – Fall in Love with the process
#ChefLife – Fall in Love with the process
CHEF. LIFE. You have to fall in love with the process — the process of getting from where you are, to where you want to be — the early mornings, late nights and all the times in between.
You have to be willing to do the work that nobody else wants to and commit yourself to becoming better every single day.
The opportunity for growth
It’s about sacrifices, because as we know, if you want anything in life, you’re trading one thing for something else, and that’s what I see standing in the way of most people. The unwillingness to sacrifice comfort and ease for the opportunity for growth.
It’s studying and reading instead of watching Netflix, going home to get a good night of sleep, instead of getting hammered with the crew after work and it’s focusing on becoming a better cook every day, when you could easily show up, go through the motions and call it a day, which is what most of choose to do, because it’s easy.
So the question is,
“Do you want it to be easy, or do you want to be great?”
You can’t have both.
Fall in love with the process. If it’s hard, it probably means you’re on to something.
