Ruth Hinks' masterclass is a success
Did we all see Ruth Hinks live in action last Monday creating those amazing chocolate dishes?
Many logged in to see the current UK World Chocolate Master create these three amazing dishes:
- Tart/Entremet – Chocolate Sable Breton with Cherry Compot, Chocolate Cremeux, Whipped Ganache and chocolate Mousse.
- Plated Dessert – Chocolate Passionfruit with a Dark Chocolate Sorbet.
- French Pastry – Mixed Berry Sable Breton with a Dark Chocolate Mousse.
All the recipes for these dishes can be seen here
We caught up with Ruth to ask her if she felt the live masterclass was a success:
"I hope everyone was happy as it is the first thing like this I have done especially live. I was happy with it and I think the more you do the better you will become. It was essential to have a full run through as after the first one we made some changes which made the live one run much better." And did everything go to plan? As far as I am aware it ran to plan. You have to be organised and Julie Sharp was amazing at helping me get ready. You need to be organised; I cant stress that enough.
Would you do something like this again? Yes I would, it was great fun but a lot of work. If however you missed the stream on Monday then fear not as you can still watch it on demand here- http://www.thestaffcanteen.com/pastry-chef/callebaut-live-streaming Thank you to Ruth, Cocoa Black, Callebaut, to everyone involved and to everyone who watched it. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it seems a lot of others did too:
